Live & Local Spring Fest promises a new look, more artisans and more diverse performances!
Also new this year is the producing team behind the April 14th festival on Hillsborough Street between Enterprise Street and Logan Court.
Artsplosure, the presenter of its namesake spring festival since 1980 and First Night Raleigh since 1991, is partnering with Live it Up! Hillsborough Street, to bring its signature programming to Raleigh’s most iconic and beautiful street.
“We’re designing a family-friendly arts festival for residents of the surrounding neighborhoods and the NC State community,” said Michael Lowder, executive director of Artsplosure. “We hope to shine a bright light on the amazing transformation of the Hillsborough Street corridor over the past 10 years. Our relationship with Live it Up! Hillsborough Street is very much a complementary one. We’re bringing our programming and production expertise. Live it Up! is offering its enthusiasm for and in-depth knowledge of the district along with its logistical and outreach capabilities.”
The festival will open to the public at 12 noon and continue until 7:00 pm.
Expect some unusual and compelling arts and crafts activities for children and adults, a diversity of music and dance on the festival performance venue, and talented area artists and crafters exhibiting and selling their original works. Lots of great food, beer, and beverages will be available from on-site food trucks, Raleigh Brewing Company, and Hillsborough Street merchants.
