Fortunate Ones Confirmed for First Night Raleigh

Fortunate Ones Confirmed for First Night Raleigh

We are so excited to announce our first confirmed band for First Night® Raleigh! All the way from the small town of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, comes an acoustic folk/pop duo, Fortunate Ones, consisting of Andrew James O'Brien and Catherine Allan.

In 2011, O'Brien released his first single album, "Songs for Searches." The album earned him three MusicNL awards including Male Artist of the Year, as well as a spot opening for Great Big Sea. O'Brien and Allan crossed paths while O'Brien played in a band with Allan's brother. Allan was hanging out with the band one night and jumped into a song and things took off from there.

Now, the previous artistic relationship has blossomed into an off-stage romance, making their music and performances even more intimate and special. The harmony between O'Brien and Allan is undeniable and is present in every song. Fortunate Ones just released a new song and video, "Carry On", and are hoping to release their debut album later this year. We look forward to seeing Fortunate Ones at Early Countdown in December!
